Breitnau in the Black Forest
The climatic health resort of Breitnau is renowned and popular for the peace and quiet and relaxation it provides. In the centre of the village and in the surrounding area there are plenty of great places to stop for refreshments – ranging from alpine inns to star-awarded restaurants.
The places of interest around Breitnau include the renowned Ravenna Gorge, the historic chapel of St. Oswald (the oldest church in the Upper Black Forest), the historic customs house in the impressive Höllental valley and “Land-Sitz”, a viewing point offering breathtaking panoramic views with a bench designed by Vitra to sit on and take it all in.

Enjoy the idyllic peacefulness surrounded by forest, meadows and pastures and explore on foot or by bike the numerous hiking trails and cycle paths in the immediate vicinity. As you breathe in the fresh air with the scents of wild herbs wafting up from the meadows, you can also listen to the sound of babbling brooks and feast your eyes on the magnificent panoramic views!
In winter you can experience a magically white Black Forest on numerous cross-country ski-tracks or while skiing across the country.
We will also be happy to give you information about the numerous tourist attractions when you arrive.
Other attractions not far from our farm include Basel in Switzerland, Lake Constance, Europa-Park in Rust (Germany’s largest theme park) as well as Steinwasen Park (an entertainment park for families).
Winters sports lovers really get their money’s worth during the winter months. Toboggan runs, ski lifts and well-maintained cross-country ski-tracks as well as numerous wintry hiking trails start right on our doorstep.
